Castles, royals and more

If you love Disney, Germany brings Disney to every princess-dreaming girl, or woman...like me.

The small town is not one to idle in, but use it as a transportation stop to get to a land of fairytales, the Neuschwanstein Castle.

After a two-hour train ride that is overcrowded with tourists, you get on an overcrowded bus to take you up a mountain, but when you depart the bus, you get to walk up another mountain to get to the castle on top.

The climb up the road takes about 40 minutes, and you are drenched in sweat and dying of thirst, but when you see the marble-white bricks and colorful flags in your sites, you know the climb was worth it. Just don’t fall over the edge of the cliffs at the top.

When you see the castle, you understand why Walt Disney used it as his muse for Sleeping Beauty’s, Cinderella’s and Beauty and the Beast’s castle designs.

The little girls comes out in every woman in her early 20’s, 40’s or 90’s. The younger children there scream in excitement because they think a princess will come out of the doors any second.

If you turn your head away from the castle, the view of the giant valley lies ahead with greenery, trees and mountains filling your sites. Also, a smaller yellow castle lies across the valley. Maybe it was a guest castle?
